Our Roots. Our Faith. Our Future.

Objectives and Goals

Preserving Cultural Heritage

The primary aim of MalayalamUniversity is to help expatriates, especially Malayalis, and their future generations born and raised abroad, retain their cultural heritage, arts, and pride in Kerala and India. This includes fostering awareness and appreciation for their roots.

Promoting Malayalam Language

The university seeks to gain recognition for the Malayalam language in foreign schools and colleges, ensuring it is offered as a credited subject in academic curriculum.

Supporting the Malayali Diaspora

The institution aims to grow as a pillar of support for worldwide Malayalees, providing resources and opportunities to connect with their cultural identity.

Structured Study of Kerala's Traditional Arts

The university plans to create a systematic academic framework for Kerala's traditional art forms, ensuring they are studied and preserved in an organized manner.

Global Platforms for Kerala's Artists

It aims to provide international platforms for artists from Kerala to showcase their talents and gain recognition on a global stage.

Standardizing Art Forms

For art forms that lack established academic standards, the university will define appropriate benchmarks, ensuring they are recognized alongside Western art forms.

Promoting Indian Classical Dances and Arts

The university will introduce theory classes and practical examinations for Indian classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam. These exams will be conducted at recognized dance schools, evaluated by university-approved teachers, and certificates will be issued accordingly.

Additionally, the university's efforts to provide skill development courses for new migrants highlight its commitment to supporting the Malayali community in adapting to new environments while staying connected to their cultural identity. This holistic approach makes MalayalamUniversity a vital institution for the global Malayali diaspora.

The MalayalamUniversity in Florida, USA, is a significant initiative aimed at preserving and promoting Kerala's rich cultural heritage, language, and art forms among the Malayali diaspora. By establishing itself as a non-profit organization, it ensures transparency and eligibility for tax benefits, encouraging donations and support from the community.

The university's focus on cultural preservation is particularly important for the younger generations of Malayalis born and raised abroad, who may have limited exposure to their roots. By offering structured academic programs and certifications, the university aims to integrate Kerala's traditional arts and language into global educational systems, ensuring their recognition and continuity.
